INTRODUCTION

The Community Living camp, a compulsory activity of second-year B.Ed program was held from 12 th december 2022 to 16 th december 2022. The theme of the camp was “HUMANITY”. It was an unforgettable experience that created a huge bonding between children and teachers of this institute. Principal of this institute Dr.K.Y Benedict was the convener of the Community living camp. Dr.Deepthi Elizabeth Mathew and Nathannine J were Coordinators of this camp. 

 

  Curricular Objectives

• To promote social accommodation and broaden the mental abilities of the student teachers.

• To promote the democratic nature and involvement of the student teacher in planning and implementing educational activities.

• To develop critical thinking about social issues related policies / approaches in Education.

• To inquire into the cultural, Social, Scientific, Educational and environment aspects of a community.

• To develop an interest to train the body and mind for a well balanced personality.

Objectives of the community living camp

1. To develop an understanding of the need for learning to live together.

2. To create an awareness of health and wellness among student teachers.

3. To develop the self and mutual adjustment among student teachers.

4. To develop an awareness about the nurturing of learned capabilities.

5. To develop an awareness about the importance of aerobics in day to day life situations.

6. To make teaching – learning simple and life – oriented.

7. To develop an understanding of the psychological factors in making teacher - effectiveness.

8. To provide a practical awareness on the role of counselling and its effectives,

9. To understand the role played by community towards the socially disadvantaged and the mentally challenged students.

10. To provide practical experience in the preparation of socially useful productive works.

11. To broaden the mental horizon of student teachers.

12. To develop social, cultural and educational values among the prospective student teachers.

 It was another memorable day....our one day trip.

After a long planning ,our college organised trip to Thenmala and Palaruvi on 5th November 2022.

Criticism Class✨

   CRITICISM CLASS 

It was my criticism class for class 8, on the topic 'Sound and Natural Frequency'. We took the class as a group of two, me and Megha. I handled the portion of sound and natural frequency and she dealt with factors affecting natural frequency.

The class was last for 45 minutes and 16 students were present. 

It was an activity oriented ICT integrated session.

Last session was the analysis session, and Krishna , Nimmy and Anulekshmi gave comments and Neena ma'am added a few points on the session. 

It was a really nice experience which gave us the idea about a real class and it's it's management...

Today's first demo class handled by Ms Gopika, on the topic Gravitational Force in physics through Concept Attainment model.  She organised three phases of CAM through different activities.

Second was by Ms Ancy on the topic Periodic table and electronic configuration in Chemistry. It was an activity oriented session.

Third class was by Sr. Jeena Maria ,  on the topic Covalent Bonding in Chemistry. It was an ICT oriented class.

It was our beginning session of demonstrations. Neena ma'am gave a brief introduction of the session and about its phases. Today our Senior Students Nikhil and Gayathri took the demo classes. Students from St John's school were the participants. Session begins with the silent prayer at 10 am.

The media club THEO PRESS 2K22 of Mar Theophilus Training College Trivandrum, Nalanchira conducted an expert talk on മാധ്യമ ലോകവും ഞാനും in association with the 66th college union ADVITHIYA and IQAC at college auditorium. The expert talk was delivered by C J Vahid Chengappally, senior news editor of Dooradharshan Kerala.  As part of the programme a short film  "Anna" was shown.

Today was the exam time for surya namaskar of yoga from 11.50 to 12.30.

Sun Salutation, also called Surya Namaskar or Salute to the Sun, is a practice in yoga as exercise incorporating a flow sequence of some twelve gracefully linked asanas.

 The seminar presentations for the semester 2 was conducted on different topics.

Art, Drama and Music

 Art , Drama and Music

Today we have Art & Aesthetic Sessions and Music sessions.

Music Session started with the short introduction speech of our principal Benedict sir. Session was handled by Lekshmi ma'am. She divided us into six groups, I was in group one. She trained us the basics of the eternal Music. We enjoyed a lot and get refreshed. 

  

We get to know the soothing effect of music.

After that we have Art and Aesthetic Sessions by Reju sir. Sir engaged us in different games like Car and Driver, Communication and Concentration games.

   

The day was filled with music, enjoyment and positivity...

Group Discussion for Edu 06

 Discussion time..

Today as part of the second semester B.Ed curriculum, we had a group discussion on the paper Edu.06 Education in the Indian System under the supervision of Dr.Maya.S. In the respective session Ma'am divided the total strength into 6 groups and gave the material for group discussion. The material mainly focused on the topic of various education commission in India. That discussion were so productive that boosted our knowledge.
