It's the end of November....

 THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH

It was nice to be back in college after the unexpected holidays.

 The day started with Gibi Ma'm's  class. She  started the Class with a prayer song and she gave chance to new comers to introduce themselves. After that Gibi ma'am took some portions about 'Educational psychology' and nature of psychology.

The next hour was handled by Maya Ma'm.  Ma'm explained about the psychological and sociological process in education using sanskrit quotes  upanishad and famous quotes of Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda.

After that  the world of communication was opened by Ancy teacher.

Then in the afternoon section it was physical education class by George Thomas sir. In the ground we were asked  to play either badminton or cricket.  I choose badminton.

After that we had a training session on using smart board by an external expert-Shehnaz. We got information about the new software ActiveInspire. 

The day was a worthy one.

A rainy day full of light....

 A RAINY DAY FULL OF LIGHT

First period was taken by Maya mam.She started class by encouraging Kavya to sing a song about rain🌧️.She sang a refreshing song.Then Ma'm taught us about the topic Teacher and education. Teacher taught us the meaning of education and the characteristics of education. The characteristics of education were purposive,planned, delibrate and tripolar.

"Philosophy is the mother of all science. "

The second session was by Ancy Ma'm. Ma'm starts the topic "Communication". Communication is the process of exchanging ideas, thoughts, feelings, informations through speech, signals, writings and behaviour. Also teacher taught us about the process of communication.

Then we have an awareness programme by M Ed interns from Thycaud College. Today's topic was about "Women Empowerment and Human Rights"Ms. Kaveri and Ms. Vidhya explain the topic . We make poster about the topic life skill.

 There was a mime related to human rights played by BEd students. It was such an informative one.

Afternoon class was by George Thomas sir. Sir gave us an idea about our syllabus and mark distribution of physical education. After that we practiced for our Talent Hunt programs. It was a rainy day full of light.

First Assembly @ MTTC..

 THE ASSEMBLY DAY

24/11/2021

The day begins with the assembly organized by first year MEd scholars. Today was your first assembly day in MTTC. The assembly started with a prayer then pledge, thought of the day, news today, a speech about Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, and campus news then they have presented a book to the library. After that principal gave a message to us.Then we recited our national anthem and hence assembly dispersed.

Then we went to library for arranging things. It was a great time indeed. 

WORKSHOP

M. Ed students conducted a workshop on the topics " Life Skill Education" and" Disaster Management".

Disaster is a phenomenon involving extensive ecological disruption leading risk to life, property and health to an extent warranting extra ordinary responses from outside the affected area."

" Life skill education are basic skills aacquired through learning or direct life experiences that enable individuals to effectively handle issues and problems. "It was a very informative session.

Afternoon the physical education session was fun and relaxing by the games.

 AWARENESS PROGRAMME

The day starts with the class of Dr.Gibi Geevarughese.She took the basics in the subject Psychology- the origin of the word and the types.

Then there was an awareness programme by MEd scholars of Government College of Teacher Education , Thycaud.

The programme starts with prayer song by Ms.Kavya. The welcome speech was done by Mr.Austin. The introductory remarks were done by Dr. K Y Benedict, our beloved principal. Two of the MEd scholars took seminars on the topic 'value education' and 'gender equality', which were extremely relevant in the present scenario. 

The presentations were awesome. They made us to think through different perspectives. Then they give an interesting work of poster making in the topic value education, Gender equality or both. They divided us into four teams. My team have done poster making on the topic value education.

Afternoon session was handled by Maya ma'am. She took a slight introduction into our curriculum and some facts out our college. She differentiated between curriculum and syllabus.

Today begins with the basics of psychology lecture by Dr.Gibi Geevarughese. 

A teacher should have 3 types competency. 

1. Subject competency

2. Teaching technic competency

3. Knowing the learner

Then Dr.Joju John bothered us about thei importance of values in life.

"The child's mind is not a bucket to be filled with Knowledge, but a lamp to be lightened."

 Physical Education period became very entertaining by a small game.

The talent hunt of MEd batch was the main attraction of the day. They entertained every one by their group song, group dance and skit.

Benedict sir has taken the first hour.He told the importance of a mentor and its qualities.

A good teacher  should be a friend, a catalytic changer, inspiration, guide continuous motivator, scaffolder, sarrogative parent. Teachers are social Engineers.

 

Today has became a special day with an inspirational speech by Dr.Joju John. He emphasized the point that we have to get rid of our inhibitions for becoming a successful teacher. 

The qualities of teacher also discussed in this session. A teacher should be empathetic, broad minded etc. And finally the session ended with the melodious song sung by student teacher Kavya from English optional.

Dr. Maya introduced the importance of  education and how it makes impact on our behaviour .

 GARDENING IS AN ART

Growing your own vegetables and fruits have a positive environmental impact. Plants act as highly effective air cleaners, absorbing carbon dioxide, plus many air pollutants, while releasing clean oxygen and fragrance.

Vegetable garden was officially inaugurated by our principal  Dr. K.Y Benedict . All the first year student and teachers became the part of the programme and planted the vegetables in agro grow bags and watered the plants.

The new journey begins here . The  inaguration and welcome of our batch starts with various performance of our seniors and motivational speech by eminent personalities. Later  all of us start our beautiful journey by lighting the lamps and candles.
