8 th Week of Teaching Internship..

 8th Week of Teaching Internship...

As it was the last week of teaching practice, I had  mixed feelings..

I was very sad that I had to leave my students and school..

It was very crucial week of teaching practice...

Day 30

The 30th working day of teaching practice assigned me the 6th period at 8C where I dealt the topic 'Acceleration and Retardation' through activities. Pupil differentiated the concept acceleration and retardation.

Day 31

Today my assigned period was at 2nd period at 9A where I have distributed the papers of mid term examinations and cleared their doubts regarding the chapter.

Day 32

Diagnostic test

Today, I am assigned  with periods at 8B and 9D respectively. At 8B, I have conducted 'diagnostic test' based on the diagnostic chart by finding the area of difficulty. The question for diagnostic test is given below 👇

At 9D, I have collected the data for my project 'The atitude of students towards environmental issues'.

Day 33

As the teaching internship was approaching to its end, we are trying to do all the pending works. Today, my assigned period was at second and sixth periods respectively at 9D and 8C.At 9D, I have initiated the topic 'Chemical formula'. Pupil developed the concept by formulating the chemical formula of many compounds. At 8C, I have revised  the entire topic 'Motion' and cleared all their doubts regarding the chapter.

Day 34

Today,  34th teaching internship day was so special that it was the second last working day of us in the school. 

Remedial Teaching

Today my assigned period was at third period at 8B where I have initiated 'Remedial teaching' on the topic 'Molecules' and 'Chemical formula' using ball and stick models and discussion and group activity.

Day 35

Today was the last day of teaching internship at St.Goretti's H.S. Today was the day of goodbyes. We have distributed sweets among student and teachers, collected feedback from concerned teachers and H.M

It was an end of a beautiful chapter of  my BEd life..

It was very emotional and very close to heart experience for me....

Innovative Work

An innovative Elements Snake 🐍 and Ladder game is constructed for checking the Student's knowledge on electronic configuration and calculation of number of sub atomic particles. 

The winner of the game is awarded with a small gift...

Wonder Science

 Wonder science

We planned to conduct the awareness programme for invoking scientific temper on 31st July, 2023, at 6B Class by Maneesha, Megha and Athira.We made the brochure regarding the programme and named 'Wonder science'.

 The awareness programme named 'Wonder science' scheduled from 10 AM. We displayed some experiments which include,

2, Phenophthalein Action

3,Litmus

4, Tuning fork

All students enjoyed the session and gave good feedbacks for the session.

7 th Week of Teaching Internship..

It was 7 th Week @ St Goretti's HSS.

As the teaching practices are coming to an end the 7 th & 8th weeks were so crucial in the practice teaching..As it was 2nd last week of Teaching Practice, I have planned to finish all the pending works in the upcoming week...

Day 26

Today, on 24th July 2023, my assigned period was at 6 th period at 9A where I discussed the mid-term exam questions from the chapter "Forces in fluids"

Day 27

Today, on 27th day of teaching internship, my assigned was at 6th period and 4th period at 9D and 8B respectively. At 9D, I have initiated the topic 'Polar nature'. Pupil have developed the concept through activities and by connecting it with electronegativity. 

Achievement test

At 8B, I have conducted the 'Achievement test' on the chapter 'Basic constituents of Matter'. The test was conducted for 25 marks and the strength was 36

Day 28

28th day of Teaching internship was another day of experiences. My assigned periods were at 4th and 6th periods at 4th and 6th respectively. At 9D, I have dealt the topic 'valency' and at 8C, I have discussed their mid term exam  question paper.

Sports Day

The 29th day of teaching internship was so special that, it was the sports day for St.Georetti's H.S. So, that we have no regular classes in association with  that. Everybody was assigned duties in association with that. I was assigned the duties in regard to the item  'High Jump'. I have done the duty of working and formulating the results of High jump.

This week we have conducted  ' Wonder Science' - The scienttific attitude arousing programme..

This week was very crucial in our teaching Internship as it was approaching to an end...!!!

6 th Week of Teaching Internship

 6 th Week of Teaching Internship...

It was the 6th week of Teaching Practice. Actually now I became part of St Goretti's HSS..

From 19 to 22 , there was mid term exam for the students of St.Goretti. So there were only few periods during this week. I have performed exam duty for various classes. This week i have dealt with topics 'Speed and Velocity' and ' Compounds and chemical equations' at 8C and 8B respectively.

Moon day celebrations

 As July 21 is celebrated as Moon day, there were moon day celebrations associated with that.There was a programme in association with moon-day. I have volunteered the programme from 10.00 AM to 11.00 AM.

5 th Week of Teaching Internship

As it was the fifth week of Teaching practice, I was really became a part of the school.

Day 17

The week began with 10th July 2023. 

The topic I initiated there was the 'Surface tension and viscosity', where I initiated a liquid race between different liquids.

I introduced two  types of chemical  bonding - Ionic and covalent bonding at 9D.Pupil understood and differentiated the ionic and covalent compounds.

Day 18

 The 18th day of teaching internship was another day of  experience for me. My assigned period was at 6th period on 9D from 2.00 PM to 2.40 PM. Today was my 2nd observation by Dr Neena Thomas. The topic for the class was ' Electronegativity'. The class was activity oriented and ICT integrated. It was a pupil participatory class.

Day 19

 Today, my assigned period was at 6th period on 8C, from 2.00 PM  to 2.40 PM. I have initiated the 'Let us access' questions and extra activities for checking the knowledge  of first chapter, Measurements and units.

Day 20

Today ,the day 20 assigned me, the fourth period  at 8C, where I began the new chapter the new chapter 'Motion' .I discriminated  the concept 'distance and displacement'. Pupil were able to develop the concept  through activities and  real life situations.

Day 21

Today my assigned periods were at second and 6th on 9A and 8C respectively where in 9A .I have revised the whole chapter in a quick time and in 8C, the new concept of speed and velocity is invoked for the students with the help of activities.

In addition to this I have performed discipline duty and mid day meal distribution etc .

This week also went well at the school. This week gave us the feeling that we are also part of the school...

It was the fourth week of teaching practice . As each week passes, the experiences at the school was getting enriched and are getting more attached to the students..

Today  along with performing the discipline duty and food distribution I have introduced the topic ' Elements and Compounds' at 8B.

Today along with discipline duty and preparation for Maria Goretti day, I have introduced the topic ' Electronic configuration' through activities.

6th July 2023

Along with morning and evening duty, I have covered the topic ' Symbols and Atoms' through activity oriented method.

It was Maria Goretti Day and the day was celebrated with various prayers and programmes of students.

Today  I initiated the topic 'Capillarity' through 'Concept Attainment Model' method. I introduced positive and negative examples which are closely related to daily life. Even though, they couldn't name it, they developed the concept.

The second week begins with the Monday...The focus of the day was to take the 6 th hour from 2.00 pm to 2.40 pm at 9A. I discussed about 'Pascal's law' using Inquiry Training Mod

Reading day was celebrated in the memmory of P.N Panicker. Aksharamaram was composed in association with that . I helped in the composing of Aksharamaram..

Today as per time table ,I have covered the topics, 'Diffusion ' and 'Rutherford atom model'

Today I have covered the topic ' Atomic Number and Mass number' in the classroom (9D).

At 8C I have followed the lesson plan of ' Mass and Time' and it was first optional observation for me...

                 In this week we decided to   do something more productive for the school and students.This week we the teachers of Physical science optional  have decided and planned to make a magazine on Periodic table and distributed each elements for the students of different classes.

1st Week of Teaching Internship

Week 1 ( 14-06-2023 to 16-06-2023)

The new of phase of our BEd curriculum begins here...

On 14 th June 2023, teaching Internship began. I was assigned with the St Goretti HS Nalanchira for teaching Internship. We were a group of 15 people. 

Day 1

14th June 2023

First day my first class was on 9D and topic was ' Dalton's Atomic Theory'. I gave a brief introduction to atomic theory along with my self introduction. I also gave an opportunity for all of them to introduce themselves . Second session was on 6th period for the class 8C . There I introduced the topic 'Length'. The session were really a new experience and I was really greatful about feeling as a teacher. Along with that we have performed another duties like discipline duty and stage arrangements for 'Vijayotsav'..

Day 2

15th June 2023

Today along with the class on 8B and 9D , I am assigned with the duty of mid day meal distribution..

Each class has different kind of students. Each student was a new lesson for me.....

Today I have initiated the 'Role play model ' on topic  Scientist and Findings, Students enacted each scientists and the model was effective one....

Day 3

16th June 2023

Today the topic ' Floatation and Relative density' was initiated through experiments and activities. It was an observation class for me..

The week was the beginning of  another chapter in our BEd journey....

It was full of new exciting experiences..

Welcoming the new academic year

 Beginning of Semester 4 with Orientation classes

It was the beginning of the new academic year & semester 4 with Orientation classes for new academic year.

The Orientation begins with prayer and then , there was a short message by Dr. Joju sir our Principal in charge. And teachers gave a short talks on the new academic year and wished us a beautiful academic year. 

It was the day of farewell for our beloved Physical education teacher George sir. All the teachers as well as students gave them a hearty wishes from their bottom of the hearts. 

Then, the first session was by Dr.Asha on communicative English.

Later Dr. Reghu sir took a session on Time management, it poured so many lessons to our vision and life. He systematically presented and conveyed the Importance of Time management in life success. 

Afternoon session was handled by Joju sir, he collected feedback about the college and staffs. Then he gave a beautiful life message

"God doesn't want us to be successful but to be faithful "

Then , Bindhu ma'am gave a brief skeleton of the semester 4 and the activities to be completed. 

It was a beautiful start for Semester 4.....

 Satrangi-- Arts Fest 2k 23

   

 It was the week of Arts Fest. The sessions were filled with literary as well as stage items. I participated in Malayalam essay writing and short story writting competitions.

And students were rocked on the stage. Group events and single item were there. It was very enjoyable and memorable. 

There was tough and healthy competition among the 3 houses, and finally our house Sapphire took the Championship 🏆. 

The last day of Teaching Practice phase 1

It is time to say good bye to St Mary's...

It was the final day of teaching practice phase 1.

It was really emotional day for me..

We spend most of the day with our children, by collecting their feedbacks, enjoying with them. It was a busy day too.My classes 8M 8K and 9G  gave me small gifts and we took group photos.I distributed small gifts and sweets for students. My mind filled with their love. 

I also said goodbyes to my concerned teachers.

We, the team of 24 student teachers met and talked with school officials, principal Rev Fr Babu T and headmaster Bijo Geevarghese and took photographs with them...

It was the end of a beautiful chapter of my BEd life.......

Sociometry

I have conducted the sociometric test at class 8Q1 to understand the relaion between the pupils of the class. 10 questions were provided.

Diagnostic test

As per the analysis of achievement test, diagnostic test was conducted from the topic, pitch & loudness.

Conscientization programme

 

On 21 st February 2023, the Conscientization programme on the topic 'An awareness programme on junk food' was conducted. Along with me there were Megha Nair M V and Vivek Suresh Varghese from 11.30 to 12.30 at class 8 R1.

Remedial Teaching

 

As per the results of diagnostic test, I have done the remedial teaching at 8M by doing ability grouping.

It was the last week of Teaching Practice .With heavy hearts I have to say good byes to my students and the school....

An awareness on junk food

The concept of conscientization is the process of developing a critical awareness of ones social reality through reflection and action . conscientization or critical conscious is a popular education and social concept developed by Brazilian Pedagogue  Paulo Freire .

As part of our B.Ed Curriculum, We conducted a conscientization programme on " An awareness on junk food" at St Mary's HSS, Pattom on 21st January 2023 at 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. People nowadays find specific food items like bread, cake, pizza and cold drinks etc. This make harmful healthy issues and diseases. Especially, students are easily addicted to these junk foods. So we chosen this topic. 

PROGRAMME

            The young generation, particularly teenagers were easily attracted towards bakery foods, fast foods, ice creams etc. They felt that ready made foods are very tasty and yummy to eat. They believed that there is no harmful effects in these items. At the same time, they were far away from homely foods.

             We divided the topic into three parts. Firstly, Myself starts the presentation by saying the introductory part ie, about junk food. I explained it clearly to the students that junk foods contains high levels of sugar or fat and explained how these foods affect our body. Students carefully observe the slides and the changes that happens to our body during the digestion of these foods. Megha  continued the session by admitting the reasons why the junk food is bad. She specified that junk food is the reason for fatigue, indigestion and fluctuations in the blood level &about the types of healthy food that we have to intake. Different traditional foods are showed by using ICT. The students were enthusiastic. Vivek concluded that in our diet we have to include fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, fish, etc and also to avoid the intake of junk food.

It was 7 th Week @ St Mary's HSS.

As the teaching practices are coming to an end the 7 th & 8th weeks  were so crucial in the practice teaching...

On 14 th February 2023, I have conducted the achievement test on the chapter Sound in the class 8M.The question paper for the test is given below.....👉

I also took health education class at 9 Q1 on the topic BMI ( BODY MASS INDEX) on 14 th February 2023.

On 17 th February 2023, I also handled another physical education class on the topic mental health at the class 8 R1.

The topics I covered in this week were Seismic waves and Tsunami, Pollution due to plastic and Comparison of plastics Roleplay model...

I also performed the revision of the chapter  wave motion at 9G..

As it was 2nd last week of Teaching Practice, I have planned to finish all the pending works in the upcoming week...
